A dense hot Jupiter in a short-period orbit around a metal-rich K dwarf star.
HAT-P-20 b was observed during a favorable late-autumn transit window with excellent photometric stability. The deep 18.7 mmag transit is well suited for ground-based characterization even with modest apertures, and the resulting light curve achieved a per-point scatter of only 2.1 mmag in 60-second R-band exposures. The fitted mid-transit time deviates by +1.8 minutes from the linear ephemeris, contributing to the ongoing search for transit timing variations that could indicate the presence of additional bodies in this system.
